CAST AND CREW SELECTION AND MANAGEMENT CREW

Freelink prides itself on being a hands-on company and each team is overseen by an experienced professional production co-ordinator. Although the production manager is on hand at all times, we do recommend the use of a 2nd assistant, who serves as an additional driver and aid to the assistant photographer.

There are many highly qualified crew in Cape Town, from photographers to hair and make-up artists, stylists, assistant photographers and specialist crew such as animal wranglers. Cape Town’s talented crew are accustomed to working with international clients and many of them have worked in Europe and America too.

South Africa is home to some of the world’s most naturally diverse and beautiful people. A global melting pot, and a hot destination for international models, Cape Town has much to offer in the way of real people and beautiful faces. In addition, there are professional stunt people, sports models and trained animals for your special requirements.

Freelink will be able to forward you virtual portfolios before your arrival and manage all your casting needs when you reach South Africa. Once you are happy with the casting selection,Freelink will handle all your model and actor bookings too.

Cape Town’s accommodation options are enormous. You can choose to stay close to the beach, at the foot of the mountain or in the city bowl.

Freelink will help you find the perfect accommodation experience for your needs. This may not be your first visit to Cape Town so let us know what your preference is.

Catering
Freelink provides each team with a daily craft selection of snacks, cold drinks, coffee and tea.
By arrangement, Freelink will arrange a continental breakfast and/or lunch on set.

If you are staying in a self-catering house, your production manager will do your shopping for you and an in-house chef can be arranged. We can also direct you to the best restaurants in Cape Town.

TRANSPORTATION & SHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS

Equipment & Laboratories
Cape Town boasts a sophisticated selection of lighting and photographic equipment hire specialists. In addition, there are a number of digital support services available, including digital printing and imaging.

Although we will recommend our premier film labs, we do not favour any particular laboratory. On request, we will supply you with price lists and we suggest that you request clip tests at the recommended labs before choosing the one most suited to your personal needs.

We urge you to compile a list of equipment and film requirements in advance, so that we can ensure availability of everything you need.

Business/ Work Permits
Freelink is up-to-date with all the legal permit requirements. The nature of your requirement (business or work) will be determined by your country of origin. Freelink will advise you and assist you in getting all your papers in order.

Child Permits
As of August 2004, a new legislation was passed requiring children under the age of 15 to possess a permit prior to arriving on set. Freelink will assist you in securing these permits and we will also advise you about other legislation (hours etc…) surrounding the use of children on set in South Africa.

Freelink insures visiting teams with Public Liability to the value of R 4 million and Personal Injury on Set to the value of R 50 000. Over and above these amounts, passengers in a moving vehicle are insured against personal injury to the value of R5 million, provided the vehicle is driven by a permit-holding Freelink driver.
